iGUIDE TECHNOLOGY

Developed by Kitchener, Ontario based Planitar Property Technologies, iGuide displays floor plans and 360 degree virtual views of a property through data captured on-site using a camera equipped with a special lens, combined with a laser scanner unit, and software on a portable tablet. The end result is an easy-to-share link, interactive 3D floor plan with measurements, online measuring tape, photo gallery and motion video virtual tour.

We adopted this new technology and took over as the exclusive distributor of iGuide Virtual Tours in the Cambridge, Guelph and Kitchener Waterloo area on June 1st 2015.  By this time and since their launch in 2013, Planitar had already proven that the iGuide technology was needed in the Real Estate market by developing their own network of realtors.  However, they quickly realized that managing photographers, scheduling, training staff, and managing the overall business was a lot of work and wasn’t as easy as they had originally thought if they wanted to continue to replicate this model throughout Canada and the US.  Also, their main focus wasn’t to develop a small area and slowly grow, they needed to focus on taking their technology to the next level and have other small business owners do what we do best across the country.
At the same time, Visual Advantage was continuing to grow and we had been in the Virtual Tour business in the area of Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo, Ontario for 6 years already and had a proven track record in providing our clients with quality services.  After a year of talks between CEO Kevin Klages and myself, we finally came together and were able to join forces.
For us, it made sense, we wanted to grow the Interactive Floor Plan side of our business and had been dabbling with a few options at the time that worked, but weren’t perfect.  We were missing the reliability that the iGuide system gave us in terms of measurements and the interactive tools it provided.  Including, my personal favourite tool: the online measuring tape.  The online measuring tape allows the viewer to measure anything they want inside any of the rooms right from the virtual tour.  This is a great tool that saves buyers and renters a lot of time when shopping for a home.
